We are currently hiring a Child Caregiver – Private Home in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week at a rate of $19.00 per hour.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregiver who is passionate about supporting children’s well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.

• Location: Employer’s private home, Edmonton, AB (On-site only)

• Work Environment: Non-smoking household

• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week)

• Salary: $19.00 per hour

Education & Experience

• College, CEGEP, or non-university certificate/diploma (3 months to less than 1 year)

• Experience: 1 to 2 years as a child caregiver or in a related role

Certificates Required

• CPR Certificate

• First Aid Certificate

Responsibilities

As a Child Caregiver, you will:

• Provide full care and supervision for children in the absence of parents

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals

• Organize activities, games, and outings to encourage development

• Assist children with personal hygiene and social skills

• Help with homework and school-related tasks

• Tend to children’s emotional well-being

• Take children to and from school and appointments

• Shop for household supplies and manage basic chores (laundry, ironing, etc.)

• Maintain daily health/activity records for children

• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive home environment

Experience with Special Needs Children

Applicants with experience in supporting children with:

• Physical disabilities

• Intellectual disabilities

• Down syndrome

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

• Skills: Attention to detail, ability to manage repetitive tasks, excellent oral and written communication, and teamwork
